About the Director: Jean Shim

Jean Shim, an Emmy Award-winning director, began her illustrious career directing television promos, feature trailers, and commercials. In 1997, she played a pivotal role in launching the west coast office of a New York-based company, where she served as head Creative Director. Shim’s impressive portfolio includes directing image campaigns for the Sci-Fi Channel, launching a network for Samsung Korea (featuring John Cho), and creating main titles for Rysher Entertainment and Buena Vista Television. Notably, Shim also re-launched The Learning Channel, conceptualizing, directing, and producing all of their on and off-air commercials.

In 1999, Jean Shim established her own production company, Shim Films Inc., overseeing a talented team of designers, directors, and producers in both Los Angeles and London. Her diverse client roster includes industry giants like ABC, Disney, King World, 20th Century Fox, and A&E Network. Shim's extensive experience and unique vision make her a formidable force in the entertainment industry, bringing depth and authenticity to "A Great Divide."

About the Producer: Brian Yang

Brian Yang is a multifaceted actor and producer with a rich background in both film and television. As an actor, Yang has graced the screen in films such as "Saving Face," "The Jade Pendant," and "Laundromat," and has appeared in popular TV shows like "How I Met Your Father," "CSI Vegas," "Magnum PI," "The Path," "Westworld," "Blacklist," and "Hawaii 5-0," where he played lab tech Charlie Fong for five seasons.

As a producer, Brian Yang has an impressive array of credits. He produced "Late Life," a feature documentary on former New York Yankees pitcher Chien-Ming Wang, which was nominated for the Golden Horse Best Documentary Award. His work on the Jeremy Lin documentary "Linsanity" garnered attention at the Sundance Film Festival. Yang also produced the Shanghai International Film Festival award-winning biopic "Another Shot," about former NBA player Stephon Marbury's life in China. His other notable projects include "I Can I Will I Did," starring Tony Award nominee Mike Faist, and "Snakehead," which premiered internationally at the Toronto International Film Festival. Yang has also created documentary specials for ESPN and Fox Sports and co-produced the popular podcast "Car Stories with Sung Kang and Emelia Hartford" for iHeartMedia.
