Special Screening of UNCONDITIONAL and Book Talk with Richard Lui
Houston, TX - HAAPIFEST is proud to announce the special screening of UNCONDITIONAL, a poignant and powerful film directed and produced by award-winning filmmaker Richard Lui. The event will take place on June 7 from 6 PM to 9 PM at the DoubleTree by Hilton, located at 10609 Westpark Dr, Houston, TX 77042.
About the Film:
Unconditional has been honored at the White House and follows the seven-year journey of three families, highlighting their mental strength and unwavering love. This documentary explores a topic that serves as both a hidden wound and a hidden strength in us all. Selected for over three dozen impact awareness screening events nationwide, the film has facilitated numerous resource fairs, panels, and training sessions.
Special Event: Book Talk "Enough About Me" with Richard Lui
In addition to the screening, attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage in a book talk with Richard Lui, discussing his book "Enough About Me." Lui, a renowned journalist, anchors at MSNBC and NBC News, where he has reported on major breaking stories.
Before joining MSNBC, Lui anchored at CNN Worldwide, becoming the first Asian American male to anchor a daily national cable network news program in 2007. His journalism excellence has earned him several prestigious awards, including Peabody and Emmy team awards, the NEA’s Human and Civil Rights Award, and the AAJA Suzanne Ahn Civil Rights and Social Justice Award. Lui is also recognized as an AARP Caregiving Champion, Alzheimer’s Association Celebrity Champion, and BrightFocus Foundation Ambassador.
